Anne Burnette usually makes lap quilts, which are smaller than bed quilts. This week, she worked on her fifth one and has already started on the sixth. She gets her pieces from Walmart, online sources and from Gale Ramsey’s Stitch and Save shop on U.S. 70 West.
The quilting class at the McDowell County Senior Center meets on Wednesday mornings. The participants vary from seven to 11. Rose Wakefield, far left, is the instructor. On Wednesday, July 27, she is joined by students, from left to right, Teresa Schism, Dolores Wamack, Anne Burnette, Opal Woody, Betty Thornton, Patsy Refro, Carolyn Weant and Nellie Randolph.
