A convenience store and gas station that has done business along the five lane for more than 45 years is now under new ownership and is gradually getting a makeover. This store/gas station at 1855 N. Main St. is owned by local businessman Anwer Gillani and it is part of his Samir’s chain of convenience stores. It is renamed as Samir’s No. 19.

Business owner Anwer Gillani stands inside the remodeled Samir’s No. 19 convenience store at 1855 N. Main St. He said he spent around $8,000 to $10,000 on upgrades to the store. In addition, it has around $80,000 worth of new inventory, which includes $26,000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco products. Gillani said he plans to bring in more grocery items for Samir’s No. 19 so people can get more foods as well as beverages, cigarettes and gas.
