King volleyball swept by Conference Carolinas rival Lees-McRae

Bristol, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team dropped a Conference Carolinas matchup to Lees-McRae on Wednesday evening at the Student Center Complex, falling in straight sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 28-26).

Despite the loss, the Tornado battled throughout the night and nearly forced a fourth set after an exciting third frame that featured 13 ties and six lead changes. King recorded 36 kills and 50 digs in the contest, showing resilience against a Bobcats squad that improved to 4-3 in Conference Carolinas play.

Avery Schwieger and Cameron Martin paced the Tornado offense with nine kills each, while Capri Johnson added six kills. Ella Kiser and Amaya Hall shared the setting duties, combining for 27 assists, with Kiser adding an ace and six digs.

Defensively, Princess Emma Oluwa led King with eight digs off the bench, while Rylee Blevins contributed seven digs and Macey Snapp, Cameron Martin, Ella Kiser, and Annabelle Grissom each added six. At the service line, Snapp recorded a team-high three aces.

Lees-McRae hit .248 as a team and was led by Addi Stables, who posted a match-high 13 kills and three service aces. Peyton Volk-Tuller added nine kills while helping the Bobcats compile 18 total blocks.
