MARIPOSA, CALIF. -- -- - 5/25/07 -- -- -- The historic building at the corner of highway 140 and 6th Street is now the Fremont House that sells clothing in Mariposa. Mariposa has been hit hard over the years because it's economy depends on tourism that is generated from Yosemite National Park. There have been park closures from fires, floods, road washouts and other disasters. They now will have to deal with the impact of the park when they raise entrance fees, starting in January.
