Eligible WNC farm businesses can seek grants for projects designed to improve profitability, efficiency and long-term sustainability.
“We are just neighbors who wanted to get together and build something for the community,” Michelle Smith said.
“Please join us in congratulating Sheriff Mace as he begins this new chapter of service and leadership for McDowell County,” reads the news release.
“The commissioners are aware that the topic is of interest on a national and state level and want to be in front of the issue here locally."
McDowell officials will also talk about the upcoming sales tax referendum.
The book was inspired by her husband’s grandfather, born in Burke County in 1866.
The flag that flew at the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office was removed last week and presented to Buchanan.
