On May 16 Historic Carson House held its annual Dinner on Buck Creek and a silent auction on the grounds of the historical home and museum.
The dinner also celebrated a new visitor's center.
For the 2026 event, the Dinner on Buck Creek at Historic Carson House featured the grand opening and dedication of the new visitor center now located in the rear of the historic home.

The Dinner on Buck Creek is the annual fundraiser for the support of the Carson House, McDowell County’s most important historical site and a museum devoted to the county’s rich heritage.
