See photos: McDowell High holds mock car crash

On Tuesday, the McDowell High School Career and Technical Education and Law and Justice programs saw a mock automobile crash in the school’s parking lot to demonstrate to the students how local law enforcement and emergency workers respond to such an incident.

A mock head-on collision was set up in the parking lot complete with staged injured victims and a staged fatality. Emergency workers showed how injured people are extracted from a wrecked vehicle and loaded onto an ambulance. State troopers showed how sobriety tests are performed on impaired drivers.
