Test train travels through Old Fort on repaired tracks once damaged in hurricane

On Tuesday, a Norfolk Southern train traveled through Old Fort and up the Old Fort Loops around Andrews Geyser for the first time since before Hurricane Helene.

This train was classified as 90G (Norfolk Southern Geometry train) and it traveled west from the Salisbury area through Statesville, Hickory, Morganton and Marion and came through the center of Old Fort and up the Loops around Andrews Geyser and towards Ridgecrest, according to representatives with the Old Fort Depot and Railroad Museum.
