McDowell County and the city of Marion will continue working with partners and Givens Estates to secure remaining funding for the proposed senior apartment community at the former Clinchfield textile plant.
Developers of the Main Street hotel project in downtown Marion have indicated construction will begin in earnest during the first quarter of the year. The planned hotel for the downtown will be constructed at the site of the former Bank of America building.
In addition, improvements to county parks will continue at all ballfield complexes and the Recreation Center in downtown Marion, said County Manager Ashley Wooten.
