On Monday, the McDowell County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing about the proposed $63.7 million budget for fiscal year 2024-25, which doesn’t call for a property tax increase.
The commissioners heard a presentation from Chip Cross, president of the Rotary Club of Marion. He talked about the history of Rotary International and the club in Marion, which was chartered in February 1939 and now has almost 100 members.
