On Tuesday, the Marion City Council and Mayor Steve Little recognized downtown property owners Alan and Crystal Ledbetter, front row, center, as the 2023 Main Street Champions for Marion. The recognition happened during the regular meeting of the City Council. The Ledbetters were introduced by Freddie Killough, front row, far left, executive director of the Marion Business Association.
Crystal and Alan Ledbetter, along with other Main Street Champions, were honored last month for their contributions to downtown revitalization and community building in 2023 during a recognition ceremony in Goldsboro.
City of Marion especially commended the Ledbetters for improving their building at the corner of North Main and West Court streets, which houses Elevate Breakfast, Refinery 13 and the soon-to-open The Cleanout Closet. They have renovated the second floor for upstairs downtown housing.
