Every year, the WNC Bigfoot Festival continues to draw an increasing number of attendees lured by all things squatchy and unusual.

We sought out our favorite eateries in Marion’s North Block as we got hungry. When it comes to good food in the downtown, it’s hard to find anything better than Elevate for breakfast or lunch.

Marion’s nonprofit organizations, restaurants and businesses created a variety of Sasquatch-themed activities, dishes, drinks and memorabilia that visitors can indulge in before, during and after the festival. This is outside our favorite taproom Refinery 13.

As for us, we greatly enjoyed the WNC Bigfoot Festival. It was Dandy’s first outdoor festival and it certainly won’t be the last.

McDowell News reporter Mike Conley and his wife Karin adopted Dandy, who is mostly a schnauzer, in December of last year and added him to their brood of two cats and two other dogs.
