Lori W. Baker of Highland School Apartments, places a sign across the door of the apartment where Jamie Carlton Odom, 40, of Hickory, was killed Thursday night. Odom was visiting his brother at Highland School Apartments when an argument between Odom and Marcia Bernice Newman, 45, of Hickory started. Newman was arrested and charged with murder at about 10:45 p.m. after being interviewed at the Hickory Police Department.
