Quentin Wilson was one of the many kids who got to meet Santa Claus during a Very Marion Christmas adventure on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 4. The festive evening was held at the city stage in downtown Marion's North block.community members and visitors were able to explore and experience holiday magic in downtown Marion. The event featured a Jingle bell block Party with free hot chocolate, cookies and festive snowfall at the city stage. The block party was coordinated by the barefoot baby Foundation with support from mountain area community services, Ledbetter Properties and Westmoreland Funeral Home. People could visit participating businesses to find holiday characters or festive photo opportunities, capture memories, and check off stops to get tickets for the Christmas Fest Gift card drawing, to be held on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the city stage. stops include Artesana, bigfoot books and brews, Flavors on main, Kids closet cleanout, MACA, Phoenix on main, refinery 13 and more. you can earn one ticket entry for every $10 spent at participating businesses between Nov. 20 and Dec. 14 for the chance to win one of three gift card baskets on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. This event is part of a Very Marion Christmas, a season-long celebration of community, shopping, and holiday fun in Marion, according to information from the Marion business association.
